Yoga and Pilates

You are Only as Young as Your Spine is Flexible - Joseph Pilates

Yoga

Yoga is about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses, each of which has specific physical benefits. Anyone can practice yoga, even if they don’t feel that they are flexible enough. This will develop over time. In addition to practicing the poses, yoga also includes instruction on breathing, meditation and inspiration. Some people find that the physical practice of yoga becomes a gateway into a spiritual exploration while others enjoy a wonderful low-impact workout that makes them feel great. Yoga has been proven to show many benefits, it is a time tested and internationally practiced form of exercise and rehabilitation.

Pilates

Pilates is a method of exercise and physical movement developed in 1914 designed to stretch, strengthen and balance the body. Pilates yields numerous benefits including: increased lung capacity and circulation, strength and flexibility, coordination, posture, balance and core strength.
